We’re Not Goin’ to Canaan anymore!

Good afternoon everybody! Writing to share some big changes to the Unapologetic website. The site’s got a whole new look, really simple to navigate and best used on a laptop or home computer. The blog section at the bottom isn’t a priority of mine, just because I’ve had OSC for over four years now, still, having it helps phone users search through the website, so gonna be keeping that. In line with the Sunday school I’ve added a Through the Bible section, and God willing we’ll tackle the entire thing together verse by verse. I’m really excited for that. Right now the section is up plus a list of what’s being written on right now. I’m avoiding some of my favourite Bible commentators like crazy because I know they’d colour my opinion of the texts, not that this is a bad thing, it’s just that I’d like to produce something more original if that’ll help my friends in the faith.

I notice this all the time in conversation with Christians, there’s more than one great answer out there and as a community we get to them more often than alone. So I do my study alone then invite a few commentaries into the mix. So for everybody who loves the Bible keep online for more of that soon. Sectioned my debates separately from my essays and the videos, titling each by different Bible verses. Can you guess which ones I used? I only ask because two of the three are really popular verses, so let’s give it a try. For debates, what Bible verse is the most obvious name to choose?

Isaiah 1:18. Come, let us reason together sayeth the Lord” (or simply writing “Let us reason.”) Come on now, anybody can win at this game. The other section was dedicated to articles, I used a really popular verse in the apologetics community.

1 Peter 3:15. “Always be ready to give an answer for the hope that’s in you” (or simply “An answer for the hope.”) And lastly, this was probably the most fun to think on, I’ve got a section for my YouTube videos, so what Bible verse could I use for seeing things?

Revelation 1:17. “Behold, He’s coming with clouds, and every eye shall see Him” (or just writing “Behold, He cometh with clouds.”) Now you might say “oh that’s a terrible misuse of scripture!” But bare with me, I got the idea from those old style answers in Genesis debates, the kind where science is the be all and end all. So back in the olden days I used to do a lot on Islam, and Muslims often have this thing for trying to prove science in the Qur’an, so some Christians (not to be outdone by their Muslim counterparts in eisegesis) threw Revelation 1:17 at them. “Aha, see how the TV is prefigured in my Bible!!!” To me it’s a great verse for the section, but not so great for proving TV’s in the Bible.

Got a new look front page too which I’ve filled with a few choice quotes from over the years. Enjoy everyone, and if you’re interested, this week the class and I will be studying Joshua chapter 3, join me with some thoughts!

Here’s a recap of my last two weeks with Joshua chapters 1 and 2 for everybody who’s behind, I decided beforehand to do a little groundwork for the youth about the Jewish travels before Joshua is formally commissioned. . . .

And no I did not show the youth this, they can’t possibly enjoy it on as many levels as we all do. So enjoy the changes everyone, look forward to our verse by verse through the Bible, and I’ll look forward to whoever is part of it.

UNAPOLO NU 2

God bless everyone.
